Trav here with another problem you didn't know you had! Well, you probably did know you have it, or will realize eventually. Anyway, lets jump right in, and as always thanks for reading!
Problem:
Stores have gotten to the point where they only restock once an in game month. I'm not good at math but that is like every.....few....minutes? Hours? Whatever, it's a long time! This isn't really a bad thing, as it causes people to rely on buying and selling with each other. This does, however, pose a new problem. What do you do when all the shops are sold out of food, and you're the only one online? Right now, your options are, log off, or starve. Neither of those are good options.
Solution:
We have stairs that can be placed on Lapis Ore blocks to allow us to sit, maybe allow chests placed on Redstone Ore be shops? Of course the property would have to be a business property, but that is the price of owning a business isn't it? Once the chest is placed, you can load it with what you wish to sell, slap an item frame with it's named changed at an anvil on the front, and throw whatever you're selling it in and BOOM, got yourself a shop. That addresses the offline issue, now what about when you buy multiple things from someone? Let's say I'm selling someone a full set of enchanted armor. That's 150k for 4 items. They either have to trust me with the money up front, or I trust them with the items. I propose an additional option under the "Social" menu for trades. This opens up a trade menu where both people can see, and agree upon, the items for trade. Once both players have locked in, the trade completes.
In conclusion:
Trade menu, shops, and Mintz asked I include an "Entrepreneur Shop" in my suggestion. That would sell chests, redstone, item frames, and rent door slime. Thanks again for reading, and I can't wait to see your suggestions!
